Prayer Ministries

Ray Steadman, in his book Jesus Teaches on Prayer, says that "True prayer is an awareness of our helpless need and an acknowledgement of divine adequacy. For Jesus, prayer was as necessary as breathing, the very breath of his life."

Since prayer was necessary for our perfect Savior, certainly it should be so for us! Thus prayer is a priority at Emmanuel Church, with a variety of prayer ministries available for those who need prayer and those who want to pray:

Prayer for the Sick
Pastors and elders are available to pray for the sick. Contact Rick Durrance at (818) 843-0900 ext.102, or via email at rick@emmanuelburbank.org.

Revival Prayer
Early every Wednesday morning (from 5:30–7:00), a group of faithful people gather in the Downstairs Green Room to pray for revival to spread over and from our church, church leaders and staff, city, state and country, as well as for marriages, relationships, illnesses and personal needs. Emmanuel's "Revival Prayers" have been ongoing for more than 20 years. Any and all are welcome to attend.

Concerts of Prayer
On the second Tuesday evening of every month, beginning at 7 p.m., this prayer service offers guided prayer and worship. Prayers are offered in praise, confession, intercession and supplication. Specific prayers are offered for our church, church leaders and members, missionaries, and personal needs.

Sunday Service Prayer Teams
Every Sunday morning, from 9:30–11:20 a.m., prayer team members are available in a designated prayer room to pray privately with any person and for any need.

Prayer Request Cards
Prayer request cards are available in every week's Sunday morning bulletin. You can write in your prayer request, then place the card in the offering basket or give it to an usher. In the subsequent week, staff, elders and prayer team members will intercede for these requests at least three times.

Church Prayer Chain
The church has an active prayer chain that can get prayer requests to prayer team members quickly. Send prayer requests via email to prayer@emmanuelburbank.org, or call and leave a message at (818) 843-0900. You can also make and pass on prayer requests through the Prayer link on the Home page, www.emannuelburbank.org.

Spanish-Speaking Prayer
The Hispanic Congregation has a prayer meeting every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Hispanic Worship Center. All are welcome. For specific Spanish prayer needs, contact Carlos Block at carlos@emmanuelburbank.org.
